The return to normal life in Ain al-Hilweh camp continues to face obstacles due to the stalled surrender of the suspects involved in the assassination of Palestinian National Security leader Ashraf Al-Amroushi and his companions. This demand will not be withdrawn by the "Fatah" movement, as reiterated by Palestinian official Azzam Al-Ahmad, who has given a 10-day ultimatum for the surrender of the suspects, ending in late September. In contrast, "Hamas" rejected this warning and called for continued dialogue, indicating that Fatah's insistence on forcibly and militarily surrendering the suspects has led to destruction in the camp. Fatah responded by accusing Hamas of collaborating with armed groups in fighting on two fronts, a claim Hamas denied, asserting that its communication with emergency fighters is conducted through the "Ansar Brigade," not directly.
Meanwhile, armed individuals in the emergency unit distributed information regarding the departure of some suspects from the camp to an unknown location. Haitham Al-Shaabi, in charge of the armed groups in the emergency area, insisted on refusing to surrender any suspects and withdrawing from the UNRWA school in the area. Concurrently, a committee comprising various Palestinian factions, alongside representatives from "Amal" and security officers from the army, is holding daily meetings to resolve various issues, prevent the resurgence of fighting, facilitate the return of those who left the camp, and find housing for those whose homes were burned, especially considering the financial losses from recent clashes exceeding $15 million.
In pursuit of solutions, the Secretary of the "Fatah" movement and factions of the Palestine Liberation Organization in the Tyre area, General Tawfiq Abdullah, received a delegation from the leadership of "Hezbollah" in the first sector of Jabal Amel, led by party member Khalil Al-Hussein, along with Abu Wael Zalzali, head of relations with the camps. According to a statement from "Fatah," the two sides discussed "the Zionist attacks on the Palestinian people and the settlers' incursions into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as the war crimes faced by the Jenin camp," where they praised the heroism of the Palestinian people and the resistance in Jenin camp and throughout the West Bank. They extended greetings to the uprising of prisoners and detainees engaged in the struggle for survival and freedom against the criminal Zionist jailers. Both parties emphasized the necessity and importance of implementing the decisions of the Joint Palestinian Action Committee in Lebanon regarding the ceasefire in Ain al-Hilweh camp, the surrender of those responsible for the assassination of General Abu Ashraf Al-Amroushi and his companions, and the cessation of all armed manifestations, as well as the return of families who fled during the fighting. They also took a moment to remember the 41st anniversary of the Sabra and Shatila massacre carried out by the Zionist entity and its collaborators, affirming the need to continue meetings to strengthen the brotherly relationship between "Fatah" and "Hezbollah."
