The medical departments at Abu Arish General Hospital in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, recorded 40 cases of food poisoning symptoms over the past two days, according to the newspaper "Okaz." Medical sources at the hospital confirmed that 40 individuals were diagnosed with food poisoning "due to consuming a meal from a restaurant in the governorate."
The Emir of Jazan Region, Prince Mohammed bin Nasser, has directed the formation of an urgent committee to investigate the poisoning incident in Abu Arish, emphasizing that relevant authorities should monitor the condition of the affected individuals and provide them with necessary care.
He also called for intensified monitoring and inspection campaigns on restaurants and establishments selling food products in all governorates of the region and the city of Jizan, applying regulations and instructions against anyone found negligent and responsible for the poisoning cases to ensure the safety and health of citizens and residents, and to report the findings promptly, according to the same source.
