The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As a result of the daily monitoring conducted by specialized units in the Internal Security Forces to combat crimes in various Lebanese areas, including harassment and public decency offenses, information was gathered regarding an unknown individual communicating with people via phone to engage in indecent acts with them.
Following this, the specialized units in the Information Division initiated field and investigative procedures to identify and apprehend him. Through investigations and inquiries, they identified him as a minor: M. H. (born in 2008, Syrian).
On May 13, 2024, after careful monitoring, one of the division's patrols was able to arrest him in the Ghazieh area. During the investigation, in the presence of a juvenile representative, he confessed to the allegations against him regarding initiating phone conversations with individuals, soliciting them to engage in indecent acts, noting that he randomly selected the numbers he contacted, and that he had previously committed this act with young men whose identities he does not know from the cities of Sidon and Tyre.
Legal measures were taken against him, and he was placed in the custody of the relevant authority based on judicial directives.
