Israeli warplanes launched intense airstrikes on Friday evening targeting centers and gatherings of Iran-aligned armed factions in the vicinity of the town of Qusair, west of the Syrian city of Homs, near the Lebanese border. Reports indicated Israeli strikes on four Syrian villages in the countryside of Qusair, opposite the Al-Hermel district in northern Bekaa, Lebanon. The Syrian Observatory reported that Israeli airstrikes targeted an area on the Syrian-Lebanese border controlled by Hezbollah. It was also reported that the warplanes targeted the town of Hosh Sayyid Ali in Bekaa. Rockets hit the towns of Zita and Maqadrah, and there were reports of injuries due to the intense strikes. The Syrian army launched intercepting missiles in an attempt to shoot down Israeli missiles that also targeted the Syrian Dabaa Airport. An Israeli acknowledgment came from a correspondent for Kan channel, who commented on the Israeli bombardment on Qusair, stating: "Typically, in this area, activities by Hezbollah's Unit 4400, responsible for transferring weapons from Syria to Lebanon, are targeted."
