The Lebanese delegation participating in the Arab Championship for cadet fencing, held in the Bahraini capital, Manama, has returned to Beirut with 13 colored medals. The team comprised 14 male and female athletes competing in various styles and individual and team events. Notable participants included Mكرم صحناوي and الياس رومانوس, who were making their international debuts, along with مارك سرّوع, انطوني خويري, روبن حداد, لوي ديب, راي داود, انطوني بطيش, غبريال نعمه, جيريمي طانيوس, ليا حنكش, كلوي خازن, كلوي ابي انطون, and ليانا منيمنه. They were accompanied by coaches توفيق شاهين and محمود علي احمد, as well as the head of the technical committee of the Lebanese Fencing Federation, انطوان العنيسي, who led the delegation, along with several parents and friends.
ليانا منيمنة was the first to secure medals for Lebanon, achieving four individual medals: a silver in the sabre under 13 years, a silver in the foil under 13 years, a bronze in the épée under 13 years, and a bronze in the épée under 15 years. Additionally, كلوي ابي انطون earned a bronze in the sabre under 15 years, while كلوي الخازن secured a bronze in the foil under 15 years. غبريال نعمه claimed the only individual male medal for Lebanon, a bronze in the foil under 15 years.
In the team competitions, the female sabre team consisting of ليانا منيمنة, ليا حنكش, كلوي ابي انطون, and كلوي الخازن won the gold medal in the under 15 category, along with silver in both the foil and épée for the same age group. Among the males, the team of انطوني بطيش, روبن حداد, راي داود, and غبريال نعمه secured the silver medal in the foil under 15 years, while the team made up of جيريمي طانيوس, غبريال نعمه, راي داود, and مارك سرّوع captured the bronze in the sabre under 15 years. Another male team, consisting of لوي ديب, راي داود, غبريال نعمه, and انطوني خويري, earned a bronze in the épée under 15 years.
The President of the Lebanese Fencing Federation, جهاد سلامة, congratulated the participants on their achieved results on behalf of himself and the federation. He expressed gratitude to the parents, the البرج عينطورة and المون لاسال clubs, as well as the training and administrative teams for their efforts and sacrifices, reaffirming the commitment to continue striving to elevate Lebanon's name.
