Harry Kane, captain of the England national team, acknowledged the challenge of stopping the threat posed by Lamine Yamal, star of the Spanish national team, during their match tonight, Sunday, in the final of the UEFA Euro 2024 at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. Yamal, who turned 17 yesterday, scored a goal and provided three assists, contributing to his country's advancement to the final, and he became the youngest player to score in the history of the continental championship.
Kane said in a press conference: "I wish him a happy birthday; he is an amazing player. At 17, doing this in a tournament like this says a lot about him." He added: "He plays without fear and with freedom; he enjoys himself, and he will be one of the most challenging players in the match. I would like to congratulate him on what he has achieved so far."
Meanwhile, English defender Luke Shaw praised Spain's winger Nico Williams, stating: "Spain's wingers have performed amazingly in this tournament; they deserve all the praise." He added: "But I believe we should not limit our focus to just them; we need to concentrate on the entire team, as we are aware of their areas of danger."
The Spanish national team reached the final after defeating France 2-1 in the semi-finals, while England triumphed over the Netherlands with the same score.
