On the first day of Eid al-Adha, while the fierce Israeli war on the Gaza Strip continues, the head of Hamas' political bureau Ismail Haniyeh addressed the "journey of suffering" that Palestinians are enduring. In a video statement today, he stated that Israel's goal is to subdue the Palestinians, but they will only witness steadfastness and resilience.

Haniyeh added that "the people in Gaza and the West Bank are suffering from the siege and remain steadfast." He noted that the repercussions of the events on October 7 are evident in all allegations he mentioned. He also confirmed that "Hamas has shown high flexibility to reach an agreement to stop the war," stating that their response to the Security Council's call for a ceasefire was positive, but Israel did not respond favorably.

He reiterated that they are committed to the role of mediators and giving them the opportunity to achieve a ceasefire agreement. He stated that the movement is ready to conclude an agreement that includes a permanent ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of Israel from the Gaza Strip. He considered that "the solution will be achieved through negotiations leading to a comprehensive agreement, regardless of the Israeli side's evasions."

Additionally, he emphasized victory, stating that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has failed to achieve his objectives. He expressed confidence in God's promise of victory for them and noted that "the signs of the disintegration of Netanyahu's government are evident to all."

Regarding Lebanon, he mentioned that military operations in Gaza are ongoing, with the latest taking place in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. He affirmed that Hamas's military capabilities remain intact even in the areas that Israel has destroyed. Regarding Lebanon, he clarified that calm on the Lebanese front and other fronts is dependent on a ceasefire in Gaza.
