The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced the following: "As part of the ongoing efforts of the Internal Security Forces to combat drug trafficking operations, information was received by the Southern District of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit regarding two individuals involved in drug distribution in the Roueiss area - the Sayyid Hadi Nasrallah Highway and the Hay Al-Salam neighborhood, using a motorbike.
Following intensive investigations and surveillance conducted by the unit, their identities were established as:
- N.A. (born in 1999, Iraqi)
- M.H. (born in 1998, Syrian)
On May 29, 2024, after monitoring, a force from the unit led by the commander of the Burj Al-Barajneh squad managed to apprehend them red-handed while they were distributing drugs on the motorbike in Roueiss.
Upon searching them and the vehicle, a quantity of drugs divided and prepared for distribution, along with a sum of money, was found. During the investigation, they confessed to drug trafficking, and it was revealed that the seized motorbike was stolen.
Legal procedures were taken against them, and they were handed over with the confiscated items to the relevant authorities based on judicial directives."
