Biden Attacks Trump’s VP Pick for Catering to the Rich

U.S. President Joe Biden has accused James David Vance, who was selected by Donald Trump as his vice-presidential candidate for the upcoming election, of catering to the rich. The Democratic candidate's campaign characterized Vance as "extreme" and anti-abortion. Biden’s attack came immediately after Trump announced Vance as his running mate.

In a post on X, Biden stated, "JD Vance talks a lot about supporting workers, but he and Trump want to raise taxes on middle-class families while giving even more tax cuts to the rich. Well, I don’t intend to let them do that. And if you’re with me, support me." The Biden campaign condemned Vance, labeling him as "extreme" and as someone who "denies the results of the 2020 election, and supports a nationwide abortion ban."

The Biden campaign has launched an online fundraising page warning Americans about "Trump and Vance." Sources told NBC News that Vance's stance on abortion will be one of the key issues highlighted by the Biden campaign, alongside his views on accepting the results of the 2024 election, regardless of the outcome. An insider noted, "This is the ultimate test for Donald Trump."

On Monday, Trump announced that he had chosen Republican Senator from Ohio, JD Vance, as his vice-presidential candidate. Trump stated on his platform, Truth Social, “After much deliberation and thought, considering the immense talents of many others, I have decided that the most suitable person to assume the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator JD Vance from the great state of Ohio." Vance had previously criticized Trump harshly but later became one of his strongest defenders.
