On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States will launch a powerful strike against Iran tonight, with plans to 'seize the Iranian oil and gas markets.'
In a post on the 'Truth Social' platform, Trump stated, 'The United States will deliver a very strong blow tonight to Iran (which has lost its naval fleet, air forces, radars, air defenses, and all other forms of defense, in addition to most of its offensive capabilities).
He added, 'In the near future, we will take over Kharg Island, along with other oil infrastructure sites, and gain full control over the Iranian oil and gas markets, as we did with Venezuela, which has yielded excellent results for both Venezuela and the United States.'
This announcement comes as the United States and Iran exchanged attacks for the second consecutive day, pushing the Middle East towards a potential full-scale war.
Simultaneously, Trump informed Fox News, saying, 'There will be more bombing tonight, bigger and stronger,' affirming his intention to take control of Kharg Island, Iran's main oil hub.
However, the U.S. President also mentioned that 'Iranians are negotiating with us for an agreement, but they are aggressive in themselves.'
Trump further warned, 'People won't be able to drink water, and I don't want that to happen.'
He continued to Fox News, 'I prefer not to target bridges and power stations in Iran.'
