The Crime Prevention Directorate announced today, Saturday, the uncovering of a mysterious murder and the arrest of the perpetrator in Baghdad. The directorate stated in a report that "the Baghdad Crime Prevention Directorate's Takia Office was able to reveal a mysterious murder that occurred in the Sabaa al-Bour area, northwest of the capital Baghdad. A team was formed and they traveled to the crime scene to investigate again with a forensic expert, collecting more than 14 pieces of evidence including blood stains, cigarette butts, and a bag that the victim was restrained with, and these were sent for forensic analysis."
It added that "after gathering information about the suspects, four individuals were sent for fingerprint and genetic sample collection. The results were matched against the perpetrator's specifications with eight pieces of evidence. After obtaining judicial approvals, the suspect was arrested and, when confronted with the evidence, he confessed to committing the murder."
