America: Houthi Must Enter Political Talks to Resolve Yemen Crisis

The U.S. State Department announced on Wednesday that the Houthi militias must accept a comprehensive ceasefire and engage in political talks to resolve the crisis in Yemen. It stated that the Houthi attack on Marib has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in the country. This comes after the Houthi militia launched two ballistic missiles on Marib yesterday, resulting in the death of three civilians, including a child, and injuring ten others, including three children.

On the 10th of this month, the militia also carried out successive attacks on Marib with two ballistic missiles and two explosive-laden drones targeting a mosque in a residential neighborhood during Maghrib prayer.

The bombings also hit a women's prison at the Marib Police Department, and ambulances rushed to the site to assist the victims, resulting in the deaths of ten civilians and injuries to 25 others, including women, in addition to damage to four ambulances.

Prior to this massacre, a more brutal attack occurred that resulted in the deaths of 21 civilians, including three-year-old Layan Taher, whose charred body was found stuck to her father's body due to the militia targeting a fuel station with a ballistic missile.

It is worth noting that Marib has been experiencing Houthi attacks since February, despite numerous international calls to halt military escalation, fearing for nearly one million displaced persons in the province. In recent weeks, an Omani mediation backed by the United Nations has been initiated to push for a ceasefire in the country, yet the militias continue their attacks, undermining international efforts to achieve this goal.
