The French Embassy in Riyadh announced the legal status of the "Schengen" visa and the possibility of allowing entry into France if the visa was issued by a country other than France. The Saudi newspaper "Okaz" reported that the embassy stated the "Schengen" visa is valid for entry into France regardless of the issuing country from the European Union. France had classified the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the green list for those wishing to travel there. The French ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ludovic Pouille, said, "Travelers from the Kingdom who have a valid visa can freely travel to France... welcome to your second home." The French ambassador also announced that starting from Thursday, June 24, 2021, those arriving from Saudi Arabia who have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine can travel to France without the need for a PCR test before departure and will not be subject to home quarantine upon arrival. Travelers who have not been vaccinated are required to undergo a PCR test within 72 hours before departure and will not be subject to home quarantine upon arrival.
