The U.S. State Department stated that Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke by phone with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, about Afghanistan on Sunday. The State Department did not provide further details, except to say that Blinken acknowledged Qatar's assistance in facilitating the safe passage of American citizens and at-risk Afghans.
