U.S., UAE, and Israel Launch Working Groups on Religion and Water Issues

A senior official from the U.S. State Department said on Tuesday that the United States, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates will launch two new working groups on Wednesday. Washington hopes to expand the agreements between Israel and its neighbors known as the Abraham Accords. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will host a trilateral meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and Emirati Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the State Department. The official, speaking to reporters on the condition of anonymity before the meeting, stated that one working group will focus on religious coexistence, while the other will address water and energy issues, according to Reuters. In mid-September of last year, Israel, along with Bahrain and the UAE, signed the Abraham Accords, which involve normalizing relations, followed by Morocco and Sudan. These accords are a set of peace agreements established by Israel with several Arab countries, supported by the United States.
