The city of Sétif, Algeria, was shaken on Sunday evening by a horrific murder in which a mother, approximately sixty years old, and her thirty-five-year-old daughter were killed. The incident unfolded after the son, aged thirty-five, killed the victims in their family home. According to the Algerian newspaper "Al-Bilad," the son had ongoing disputes with his family and took advantage of his father's absence, who had gone to perform the afternoon prayer at the mosque, to carry out the crime. The perpetrator stabbed his mother and then his sister, leaving them in a pool of blood. He intended to kill his father as well, but the father was delayed in returning home and miraculously escaped the incident. Emergency services and security personnel intervened to remove the bodies of the victims and initiate an investigation, while sources indicated that neighbors and local residents were in a state of shock.
