Pfizer Booster Dose for Immunocompromised Individuals After 28 Days from the Second Dose

The Dubai Health Authority issued a circular regarding the Pfizer vaccine "third dose" in coordination and cooperation with the Control and Command Centre for combating COVID-19. It emphasized the necessity for immunocompromised individuals to receive the third dose 28 days after the second dose. This includes, but is not limited to, patients undergoing cancer treatment such as chemotherapy, organ and stem cell transplant patients.

It was clarified that those wishing to voluntarily receive the third dose of the Pfizer vaccine must do so at least 6 months after obtaining the second dose of the same vaccine. Eligibility for the third dose is restricted to individuals who fall within any of the following groups: individuals aged 60 and over, individuals aged 50 and over with chronic diseases at high risk of contracting COVID-19, and individuals aged 18 and over receiving long-term healthcare in hospitals or home healthcare.
