Director of Civil Aviation in Lebanon Responds to Reports of Flight Suspension with the UAE

Lebanese Director of Civil Aviation, Fadi Hassan, responded on Monday to reports of a suspension of commercial flights between the UAE and Lebanon, completely denying this information. In a call with CNN to comment on the news of flight suspensions between Beirut and the UAE, the Director stated, "These are just baseless rumors." He added, "Cargo flights between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia have been suspended, but passenger flights have not been affected." The UAE's foreign ministry had announced the return of its diplomatic mission from Lebanon following a crisis triggered by comments made by Lebanese Information Minister George Kordahi regarding the Yemen war. The UAE decided to withdraw its diplomatic mission in Lebanon after Saudi Arabia expelled its Lebanese ambassador and summoned its ambassador in Beirut, Walid Bukhari, following Kordahi's remarks.
