Study: Zinc Has Amazing Benefits for This Vital Human Organ

Researchers in a recent medical study revealed the benefits of "zinc" for the respiratory system. Scientists from Western Sydney University in Australia, in their study published in the journal BMJ Open, stated that taking zinc supplements may reduce the duration of respiratory infections and alleviate accompanying symptoms.

The study included nearly 5,500 individuals and found that oral zinc intake or using it as a nasal spray can help prevent infections related to respiratory illnesses and may lead to faster recovery for those affected. Symptoms of respiratory infections include cough, sneezing, nasal congestion or runny nose, sore throat, headache, and fever. The study did not include data related to COVID-19 patients, according to the British newspaper "Independent."

Researchers concluded that zinc is a viable natural alternative for recovery from respiratory infection symptoms at home, although they could not determine the ideal dosage. The study's authors indicated that zinc is beneficial for patients looking to recover from respiratory infections more quickly; however, further research is essential to understand the impact of this element on the constantly changing viruses that cause infections.

Zinc is an important element for the immune system to function properly and also helps in wound healing. It can be found in shellfish, crabs, meats, chickpeas, mushrooms, spinach, broccoli, and turnips.
