The media office of the Yemeni National Army documented on Monday some of the nighttime battles that the army forces are waging against the Houthi militia south of Marib, where the latter suffered heavy losses in both personnel and equipment. The Yemeni army announced the revival of battles on the southern front of Marib Governorate, with intense clashes erupting in the Al-Jawba and Mal'a areas, supported by coalition aircraft targeting Houthi militia positions.
Coalition airstrikes destroyed an armored vehicle and heavy weapons belonging to the insurgent militia in the "Al-Aqaba" area, which faced significant losses during the clashes. As confrontations intensified on the fronts, the displaced camps' administration urged humanitarian organizations to provide necessary supplies for the displaced from those areas.
For his part, the director of the Executive Unit for Displaced Persons in Marib Governorate warned that the Houthis continue to prevent civilians from leaving the Al-Abdiyah District to safe areas and have kidnapped dozens of residents from surrounding villages. He confirmed that the Houthi militia has committed crimes against humanity in Al-Abdiyah District, in addition to physical killings of civilians in surrounding villages, in blatant violation of international and humanitarian laws.
UN envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg emphasized on Sunday the importance of ending violence in Yemen and entering into a comprehensive political process to end the war and humanitarian suffering, restoring security and stability to Yemen and the region. This came during a phone conversation with Yemen's Foreign Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak to discuss the tragic situation in Al-Abdiyah District, where the residents are facing war crimes and crimes against humanity perpetrated by the Houthi militia, according to the official Yemeni news agency.
The Yemeni Foreign Minister stated that the Houthi militia is committing retaliatory crimes against civilians and the wounded, calling on the United Nations and the international community, which is keen on peace, to take responsibility and urgently intervene to end these crimes and save the civilians.
