After the newspaper "Okaz" reported that it had obtained statements from Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib made to a group of journalists regarding the recent diplomatic crisis with Saudi Arabia, and following Bou Habib's response in which he deemed the statements in question as "fragmented and distorted narratives that add fuel to the fire in attempts to build bridges for reconciliation," "Okaz" resolved the matter by publishing a tweet containing the minister's audio recordings.
"Okaz" indicated that "the office of the Lebanese foreign minister sought to prevent the dissemination of the statements, and attempted to plead with the journalists present at the minister's tense session to refrain from publishing them." The recordings revealed his animosity towards Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries, aligning with the malicious propaganda promoted by the leader of the Hezbollah militia and his allies in Tehran. Additionally, it showcased the contradiction between his private discourse and the public statements he makes before the Lebanese people. His efforts to demonize Gulf countries and undermine them began with shameless and disrespectful comments aimed at belittling Gulf nations and infringing upon their sovereignty while launching irresponsible accusations against the Kingdom, reflecting the political leanings of his country's regime in accordance with the perspectives of the party under Iranian oversight.
