Lawyer Samir Sabry has filed a complaint against Mohamed Ramadan for releasing an explicit music video featuring vulgar language. He claims that "a group of mercenaries and unemployed individuals has emerged in the music scene aiming to tarnish it and promote obscenity, thuggery, drugs, and sexual harassment, in addition to numerous crimes."
The situation has escalated, according to Sabry, who spoke to "Al Arabiya.net," to a more serious level, as the songs now contain many vulgar words and sexual innuendos. "Now the music features awful and low language with blatant crude expressions, leading the respected Musicians' Syndicate, under the leadership of its president, the Emir of Arabic Singing, Hani Shaker, to issue an irrevocable decision to ban the performances of some of these individuals... recently, a decision was made to suspend Mohamed Ramadan from performing or singing entirely."
Sabry added, "While this decision comes very late, it is better than no decision at all." He stated that "there is a targeted campaign of obscenity aimed at damaging Egypt's reputation and its towering artistic culture, spreading dirt and pollution over this ancient artistic heritage." Finally, according to Sabry, "the accused broadcasts a song through a music video that contains explicit language with no concealment in its filth." He concluded his complaint requesting an investigation into the matter and the urgent referral of the aforementioned Mohamed Ramadan to criminal court.
