A horrific crime occurred in Kafr El-Sheikh, north of Cairo, where a student killed his classmate in public to defend a young child who was being assaulted by the victim. The first police station in Kafr El-Sheikh received a report from a hospital about the arrival of a deceased student, who had a fatal neck wound.
Investigations revealed that a verbal altercation took place between the victim and a fellow student from a different police precinct while they were in a street in Kafr El-Sheikh attending private tutoring. The situation escalated into a fight, during which the accused attacked the victim with a piece of glass, inflicting a fatal cut to the neck.
Security forces managed to apprehend the accused, who confessed during interrogation that while walking down the street with his friends, he witnessed the victim beating a small child. He attempted to defend the child, but the victim retaliated by attacking him, leading to a physical confrontation. The accused picked up a broken piece of glass from the ground, the remains of a soda bottle, and used it against the victim, resulting in his death. He insisted that none of his friends participated in the incident.
The accused student has been referred to the public prosecution for further investigation, and is being held in custody pending the case.
