U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has reached out to the Christians in Lebanon with a heartfelt message:
“To the Christians in Lebanon, I urge you to hold steadfast in your faith in Jesus Christ, and know that you have many friends within the U.S. government striving to enhance peace in the region.
The primary issue that these Christians face, or the reason they are subjected to such violence, is the presence of Hezbollah, a terrorist organization that has effectively headquartered itself in Lebanon. At times, Hezbollah launches attacks on Israelis, prompting rightful self-defense responses from them.
Thus, there exists a persistent state of low-level conflict. However, the situation has notably improved over the past weeks thanks to the efforts of the President and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, along with several other administration officials.
Peace sometimes requires time to genuinely establish itself, and this is what we are working towards. In truth, this is our aim for the entire region: to alter the manner in which we've handled things in the past. It is indeed a very beautiful part of the world.”
