Xavi takes over the coaching role at Barcelona, which is currently in ninth place in La Liga, 11 points behind the leaders Real Sociedad, with one game in hand. The Spanish coach stated, “The training sessions will require a lot of effort, and we will compete vigorously.”
Following the upcoming international break, Xavi's first match as manager will be the Catalan derby against Espanyol on November 20. Meanwhile, Barcelona announced that Eric Garcia and Nico Gonzalez sustained muscle strains during the team’s 3-3 draw against Celta Vigo yesterday in the league. The duo joins Ansu Fati on the list of injured players, as Fati was substituted before the end of the first half due to a thigh injury.
