Passenger Dies on Flight from Germany to Egypt

A passenger died during a flight from Cologne-Bonn Airport to the resort of Hurghada in Egypt. A spokesperson for the low-cost airline Eurowings stated yesterday that there was a medical emergency on the flight, and the passenger received immediate medical attention from the cabin crew. The spokesperson said the crew decided to make a stop at the nearest airport. At Klagenfurt Airport, the passenger immediately received urgent medical care. The spokesperson continued, "Unfortunately, the passenger died at the location where medical care was provided, and Eurowings expresses its heartfelt condolences to his family and sympathies with them." The spokesperson did not provide further details due to the passenger's privacy. According to the German newspaper "Bild," the man was 71 years old and from North Rhine-Westphalia. Eurowings reported that there were 178 passengers on board the Airbus, along with four cabin crew members and two cockpit crew members. The plane took off from Klagenfurt Airport returning to Cologne Bonn Airport. Accommodation was provided for the passengers at a hotel until the flight departed again, arriving in Hurghada the following morning.
