What Happened on the Opening Night of the El Gouna Film Festival?

The celebrations for the El Gouna International Film Festival continue in Egypt, with many surprises and exciting events taking place at the festival, which runs until October 22nd. The festival opened its activities on Thursday evening under the slogan "Cinema for Humanity." A host of stars and filmmakers attended the event, with actresses capturing attention with their attractive and elegant appearances on the red carpet. Among the prominent names present at the global event were Yousra, Menna Shalaby, Nasreen Tafesh, Saba Mubarak, Sherine Reda, Riham Abdel Ghafour, Naglaa Badr, Jumana Murad, Maya Diab, Nadine Njeim, and others.

The husband of Syrian star Jumana Murad accompanied her, as did Egyptian artist Bushra, along with the popular duo in Egypt, Mohamed Farag and Basant Shawky. In a special and touching gesture, the organizers of "El Gouna," which is considered one of the most important festivals in Egypt, commemorated the memory of late artists, prominently featuring Samir Ghanem and his wife Dalal Abdel Aziz.

The festival was an occasion to honor Egyptian star Ahmed El Sakka with the Creativity Award in recognition of his long cinematic journey. El Sakka dedicated his award to several individuals, beginning with the late artists Samir Ghanem and Dalal Abdel Aziz, and then continued to dedicate it to the parents of businessmen Naguib and Samih Sawiris, concluding with his father Salah El Sakka, mother, wife, and family members.

The ceremony was concluded by Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan, who lit up the stage with his new song "Jow Al Banat." Ramadan did not stop with this song alone; after the opening, he held a private concert where he performed a collection of his famous songs, including "Number One," "Thabet," "Ala Allah," and "Mafia," receiving a highly interactive and distinctive response from the audience.

The El Gouna Film Festival's new edition showcases 37 feature films, 15 documentaries, 23 short films, in addition to six films as part of the special screening program.
