Chinese President to Attend Climate Summit Called by Biden

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that President Xi Jinping will attend the climate summit on April 22, called by U.S. President Joe Biden. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying mentioned on Wednesday that Xi will participate in the summit via video and will deliver a speech. It is noted that President Joe Biden has invited dozens of world leaders to the climate summit, including Russian President Vladimir Putin. The United States is expected to announce new commitments soon regarding the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, as Biden has stated that combating climate change is one of the key points of his policy, with Washington's return to the Paris Agreement on climate signed in 2015, from which former President Donald Trump withdrew.
