Syrian air defense forces intercepted Israeli targets in the southwestern outskirts of the capital, Damascus, this morning, Friday. A high-ranking security source informed "Sputnik" that the Syrian air defenses are currently intercepting missiles launched by hostile Israeli aircraft from Lebanese airspace, attempting to target areas around Damascus from the southwest. The source confirmed that air defense missiles managed to intercept most of the Israeli missiles before they reached their targets. The source added, "Technical teams are working to assess the damage caused by the Israeli aggression." The Syrian "al-Ikhbariya" channel published images of the Syrian air defenses responding to the Israeli targets. The photos depict the Syrian air defenses engaging a target in the sky, causing a large explosion that illuminates the darkness. No reports have yet emerged regarding material damage or injuries. The last Israeli attack on Syrian territory occurred on July 21, targeting Homs, where Israeli missiles were launched from Lebanese territory, attempting to hit some military sites around the city of Homs.
