Iraq clinched the second West Asia U-20 football championship by defeating Lebanon 4-2 in a penalty shootout, after the match ended in a goalless draw. The match took place at the Al-Madina Stadium in the capital Baghdad in front of around 30,000 spectators who gathered in the stands hours ahead of time. This was the first match held in the Iraqi capital since 2005, following a ban from FIFA due to security reasons.
