The relationship has deteriorated further between Manchester United's Norwegian coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, and Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo following the humiliating 5-0 loss at home at Old Trafford against their traditional rival Liverpool in the ninth round of the Premier League last Sunday. The aftermath of the defeat did not stop there, as it was accompanied by exciting video footage of Ronaldo on the field mocking his coach right after the team conceded the third goal, which was also the first goal by Egyptian star and Liverpool's top scorer Mohamed Salah.
The British newspaper "The Express" reported that Ronaldo lost his composure as he watched the goals pouring in against his team, especially since four of these goals entered their net in the first 45 minutes. This has intensified the ongoing discussions about the rising tension in the locker room, particularly between the coaching staff led by Solskjær and several team stars, including Ronaldo, who has frequently expressed his strong dissatisfaction with the tactical plans employed by the coach.
This was strikingly expressed when Salah scored his team's third goal; Solskjær shouted at his players and gestured directions with his hands. In response, Ronaldo waved his hands in a random manner, mockingly replying to "Solskjær's instructions."
It is worth noting that Ronaldo scored a goal that was ruled out for offside by VAR, while Salah achieved a historic hat-trick against Liverpool, alongside goals from Naby Keita and Diogo Jota. This defeat caused "The Red Devils" to drop to seventh place with 14 points, eight points behind the league leaders Chelsea.
