The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received a phone call yesterday evening from German Chancellor Angela Merkel. During the call, they reviewed the latest developments on both regional and international fronts, particularly the situation in Afghanistan and its repercussions. Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing talks and intensifying efforts necessary to achieve national reconciliation and a peaceful transfer of power for the benefit of the Afghan people.
The call also addressed the strong bilateral relations between the two friendly nations and ways to enhance and develop them.
