New Comment from Barcelona President on Messi's Future

The president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, stated that everything is going well regarding the future of Argentine star Lionel Messi with the Catalan team, following the expiration of his contract with "the Blaugrana." Messi's contract with Barcelona officially ended on June 30, and he has not signed a new contract yet, which has caused concern among the club's fans.

Catalan newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Laporta was keen to reassure the fans when asked about Messi's future upon his arrival at the club on Tuesday, stating, "Everything is going well." The newspaper added that Laporta did not provide further details on the matter but was firm about Messi's continuity with Barcelona.

It is noted that Barcelona is seeking to reduce player salaries during this period before they can announce Messi's continuity. Messi became a free agent at the end of June and is eligible to sign with any club for free, with the 34-year-old star being linked to joining French club Paris Saint-Germain and English club Manchester City.
