The attacker went on to slaughter him in front of his mother in Maadi.

On the day of the incident, Mahmoud's mother had gone to an electrical appliance technician to retrieve the blender she had sent for repair a long time ago. Each time she inquired about its repair, he delayed her, prompting her to go and collect it in person after losing patience.

While waiting outside the shop with her niece for the technician to bring the blender from amidst the electrical appliances, a verbal altercation broke out between her and the shop owner, leading to the intervention of another individual, a known criminal. Bystanders managed to resolve the dispute.

He then proceeded to slaughter him in the neck with the weapon while the mother screamed in horror.
