Newcastle Offers Mohamed Salah the Highest Salary in Football

Liverpool and Premier League top scorer, Mohamed Salah, could become the highest-paid player in football worldwide if he accepts an offer from Newcastle United, which has been taken over by the Saudi investment fund. This comes as the Egyptian pharaoh's contract with Liverpool is set to expire in June 2023, and no agreement has yet been reached regarding a contract renewal.

According to the English website "team talk," Newcastle's management has offered Salah a weekly salary of £700,000, which would make it the highest weekly salary for a football player in the world. Currently, Lionel Messi earns £650,000 per week at Paris Saint-Germain, while Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo receives £510,000 (approximately $697,000) weekly, according to the player statistics site "spotrac."

The "Liverpool Echo" reported that Newcastle United's management is exploring all avenues to build the team in the near future. Eddie Howe, the club's new manager, has been in contact with Michael Edwards, Liverpool's sporting director, to discuss the possibility of attracting him to St James' Park, aiming to incorporate him into the club's new project alongside signing Egyptian star Mohamed Salah and several other notable players.

Since acquiring Newcastle, the Saudi investment fund has set a substantial budget to enhance the team with big names, with Mohamed Salah being a primary target. Meanwhile, Liverpool's management is trying to reach an agreement to renew Salah's contract, which has not yet been achieved. The Egyptian player's agent insists on a figure of £500,000 per week, which the "Reds" management considers excessive.
