Daniel Baldwin, brother of American actor Alec Baldwin, stated that his brother bears "no responsibility" for the shooting during the filming of "Rust." In a television interview, Daniel Baldwin said, "It is very clear that my brother Alec is not responsible for the shooting during the filming of the movie," claiming that the blame is placed on his brother due to his "strong political opinions." Regarding the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during the shooting incident, Daniel Baldwin remarked, "This is awful, we understand that, as she lost her life." He added, "My brother's political views have made him a target; he is stubborn and strong and has really strong opinions about certain matters. I believe that those who do not like him will exploit that and persecute him." It is worth noting that a tragic incident occurred during the filming of "Rust," directed by Joel Souza, where cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was accidentally shot by the famous actor Alec Baldwin, who was told the gun was loaded with "blank" rounds, but it turned out to be real ammunition.
