Initial data indicates that the Moroccan Liberal Party, the National Rally of Independents, won the most seats in the parliamentary elections held on Wednesday. It was followed by the Authenticity and Modernity Party, while the moderate Islamic Justice and Development Party, which was a governing partner, came in eighth place. The National Rally of Independents secured 97 seats in the 395-seat parliament, followed by the Authenticity and Modernity Party with 82 seats, and the conservative Independence Party with 78 seats. The Justice and Development Party only obtained 12 seats after the counting of 96 percent of the votes. The Moroccan Ministry of Interior reported on Wednesday that the voter turnout for the legislative, local, and regional elections was 50.18 percent nationwide.
