The Security Media Cell announced on Monday that eight individuals wanted by the judiciary were arrested, including two terrorists, and unlicensed weapons and narcotics were seized in eastern Baghdad. The cell stated in a statement that "the units of Baghdad Operations Command/advanced headquarters - Rusafa, represented by the 11th Infantry Division under the supervision of the division commander, continue to carry out search and inspection operations based on precise intelligence information and high-level coordination with the Baghdad Operations Intelligence and Security Department, in order to maintain security and stability in the areas of Baghdad. In this context, a team from the reconnaissance battalion of the division, while stationed at the Shab district checkpoint, managed to arrest two suspects under Article (4/1) of the Terrorism Law, one wanted by the Diyala Police Directorate and the other by the Central Investigation Court in Karkh."
Additionally, the statement indicated that "a force from the 42nd Infantry Brigade of the same division carried out a search and inspection mission and set up surprise checkpoints within the area of responsibility in eastern Baghdad, during which they arrested six suspects under various legal provisions, including those accused of promoting and using narcotics. Some of them were found in possession of a quantity of crystal meth and equipment for its use." The statement further noted that "the operation also resulted in the seizure of unlicensed weapons and munitions, as well as the discovery of a stolen vehicle abandoned in a square in Sadr City, which contained a pistol, mobile devices, ID cards, and a sum of money." It emphasized that those arrested and the seized materials were referred to the relevant authorities.
