British police announced on Monday that they firmly believe the individual behind the Liverpool explosion is named Emad Al-Suwailmin, aged 32. Chief Detective Andrew Meeks from Greater Manchester Police stated, "Our investigations are ongoing, but we strongly believe at this stage that the deceased is Emad Al-Suwailmin, who was 32 years old." Earlier on Monday, police said that the explosive device that detonated in a taxi in Liverpool, northern England, on Sunday was carried by one of the passengers, and the explosion is being treated as a terrorist incident. British Home Secretary Priti Patel stated that the country has raised the threat level from terrorism to "severe" from the previous level of "substantial," indicating that an attack is highly likely following the Liverpool explosion.
