Tesla Recalls Half a Million Cars Due to Serious Issues

The U.S. road safety agency announced that Tesla will recall over 475,000 of its electric vehicles from Model 3 and Model S to address issues with the rearview camera and trunk that increase the likelihood of collision accidents. Tesla's stock fell 1.1 percent in pre-market trading on Thursday. The electric vehicle manufacturer will recall 356,309 Model 3 cars produced between 2017 and 2020 to address rearview camera issues and 119,009 Model S cars due to problems with the front trunk. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stated, "The failure of the rearview camera display may affect the driver's rear visibility and increase the risk of a crash." Additionally, the company is not aware of any accidents, injuries, or fatalities related to the issues with its Model 3 and Model S cars.
