The Moroccan national team qualified for the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon after defeating Malawi 2-1 at the Ahmad Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé. Morocco will face the winner of the match between Egypt and Ivory Coast in the next round. Youssef En-Nesyri and Achraf Hakimi scored for Morocco in the 45th and 68th minutes, respectively, while Mhango scored in the seventh minute. The match started with great caution from Malawi, and the Moroccan team tried to apply pressure. In the sixth minute, Mhango received the ball and, with a powerful shot, scored the first goal by taking advantage of goalkeeper Bono's advance. In the 12th minute, Hakimi broke through on the right side and made a strong pass, but goalkeeper Charles Tom intervened and lost the ball before a defender cleared it.
