New details have emerged regarding the tragic incident that led to the shooting death of a cinematographer by actor Alec Baldwin during the filming of the movie "Rust." In recent developments, several complaints were filed against assistant director Dave Halls, accusing him of ignoring safety protocols during scenes that involved firearms or had fire outbreaks. Sources familiar with the matter, as reported by CNN, indicated that Halls has a known history of negligence, as well as allegations of mistreatment of female staff and complaints about unwanted physical contact with those around him.
Halls was the one who handed the firearm to Baldwin, which was discharged and struck the cinematographer. Maggie Goll, a prop master in the film industry, indicated that Halls would conduct safety meetings for the crew merely as a formality, as he did not warn them about the presence of firearms during filming.
Regarding the allegations of sexual misconduct, Goll noted that coworkers had warned her about Halls on her first day of work. She explained, "Halls would frequently touch others in unwanted ways, placing his hands on their shoulders and hips, although his touches were not excessively inappropriate."
It is worth mentioning that American police announced days ago that the famous actor discharged rounds while filming near Santa in California, resulting in the death of the film’s director of photography, Halyna Hutchins (42), and injuring the director, Joel Souza (48).
