Adham Al-Salehdar, coach of Al-Majd Egyptian football club, passed away after a last-minute goal scored by his players during a match against Al-Zarka in the second division league. Al-Majd scored a dramatic goal in the 90+2 minute of the match, concluding a goalless draw.
Samir Ashour, the goalkeeping coach of Al-Majd Alexandria, confirmed that "Adham Al-Salehdar died at Al-Amiriya Hospital in Alexandria on Thursday evening after fainting." Egyptian league clubs offered their condolences to Al-Salehdar's family following his death.
Who is Adham Al-Salehdar?
Adham Al-Salehdar began his football career at the age of nine with Al-Nil Sports Club, then moved to Al-Nil Pharmaceuticals for a year before joining Ismaily. His first match with the "Dervishes" was against Ghazl El-Mahalla in Ismailia during the 1990-1991 season, where he played 213 matches and achieved titles in the 90-91 league and the 1997 Egypt Cup. Before retiring, Al-Salehdar joined Al-Sharqiya and later transitioned to coaching in Al-Maaden, then became head coach of Enppi and held the same position at Libyan club Al-Ittihad, where he won two league titles and the local super cup before joining the coaching staff of Ismaily.
