Comedian Nick Cannon Announces the Death of His Son in Tears Before His Audience

American comedian and host Nick Cannon announced the death of his five-month-old son, Zen, after suffering from a brain tumor. The 41-year-old star shared the news during the latest episode of The Nick Cannon Show on YouTube, where he told his audience, "I’ve had a really tough week." Zen was born in June, and Cannon recalled the moment he and his partner, model Alyssa Scott, were told that their son had fluid buildup in his brain and discovered he had a malignant brain tumor.

Cannon said, "We had to immediately perform brain surgery and put a shunt in his head; we were hoping for the best, but the tumor started growing at a much faster rate, and he passed away after things took a turn for the worse around Thanksgiving."

Speaking about his youngest child, Cannon described him as loving, saying, "He was always smiling and had the most beautiful spirit." He added, while crying, "We not only got to see the sunrise but also got to see the sunset. I held my son for the last time. He was still beautiful."

Cannon's speech was met with cheers from the fans watching in the studio, and people shared supportive messages on social media. He ended the show by saying, "You never know what someone is going through, hug your people, hug your family, tell them you love them."

It is worth noting that Nick Cannon has seven children, including Zen, with his two oldest from his former marriage to Mariah Carey.
