Tokyo Olympics and Salah's Shock: Liverpool Did It

Egypt's Olympic national team coach Shawky Gharib announced on Friday the list of 22 players who will participate in the football competition at the Tokyo Olympics. Notably absent from the list are Liverpool's star Mohamed Salah and Galatasaray's striker Mostafa Mohamed. The squad includes three over-age players: Al Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy, Al-Ittihad of Jeddah defender Ahmed Hegazy, and Zamalek's Mahmoud El-Wansh. Salah is missing due to his club's refusal, and Mostafa Mohamed, who is on loan from Zamalek, is tied to his Turkish club's preliminary match against PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League. The Egyptian Olympic team is scheduled to gather next Thursday. They will play in Tokyo in Group C alongside Spain, Argentina, and Australia.
