New Attack on Ship in Aden Gulf... via Armed Boat

Less than 24 hours after similar attacks in the Gulf of Aden, a new assault has been recorded. The British Royal Navy’s Maritime Trade Operations Coordination Authority announced today, Friday, that an unknown group carried out a new attack on a ship in the Gulf of Aden. They stated in a brief statement that the incident occurred 195 nautical miles east of the Yemeni city of Aden. The captain of the attacked ship reported the approach of a small boat carrying 5 to 6 armed individuals with ladders. They added that authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and advised ships to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity. Military spokesman for the Houthi group, Yahya Saree, announced yesterday, Thursday, that they targeted 3 ships: 2 in Aden Gulf and one in the Indian Ocean. The Houthi group, which controls the most populated areas in Yemen, has been conducting attacks on ships in the waters off the country for several months in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, according to their statements.
