Russia and Ukraine continued their exchange of aerial assaults on Tuesday for the sixth consecutive day, with Russian strikes targeting the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, and its surrounding area, resulting in the death of four people and leaving more than ten others injured. At the same time, Ukrainian drone attacks damaged civilian facilities in Russia's Samara region and targeted the port of Ust-Luga in the northwest.
Casualties in Kyiv Attack
Four people were killed, and more than ten others injured in Russian air strikes on Kyiv and its vicinity, according to Ukrainian authorities on Tuesday.
The Kyiv city military administration reported that three people were killed and five injured, as a fire broke out in a non-residential area of the capital.
In the Kyiv region, Governor Tymur Tkachenko announced that one person was killed and nine others injured, including a child, in the city of Boryspil after a residential building and a commercial facility sustained damage from missiles and drones.
Consecutive explosions were heard in the capital, and the Ukrainian air force warned of the ongoing threat of ballistic missiles and other aerial assaults, urging residents to take cover.
This assault marks the sixth day of continuous aerial strikes by Russia on Kyiv and its surrounding area, disrupting the daily lives of millions.
Ukraine Targets 'Samara' and 'Ust-Luga'
Conversely, Vyacheslav Fedorychev, the governor of Russia's Samara region, announced on Tuesday that a Ukrainian air strike damaged civilian facilities in the area, with initial reports indicating no casualties.
Samara, situated on the Volga River, hosts several major Russian oil refineries.
In a separate attack, Alexander Drozdenko, the governor of Russia's Leningrad region, stated that a drone strike caused a fire at the Ust-Luga port, one of the primary export outlets in northwest Russia.
The Leningrad region’s governor added that local forces are continuing to repel the attacks.
Ukraine has repeatedly attacked the Ust-Luga port, which is one of the critical export centers for oil, fertilizers, and coal in Western Russia.
Both Moscow and Kyiv have intensified their strikes in recent weeks on economic targets, such as major e-commerce companies and retail stores. Russia has targeted warehouses belonging to large supermarket chains in Ukraine, major postal offices, and home improvement stores, while Ukrainian forces focus on Russian infrastructure.
