After causing a stir by appearing in a television interview smoking "shisha," Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan broke his silence and responded to the incident with a sarcastic video. Ramadan shared the video of the interview on his personal social media account, commenting humorously: "I thought smoking shisha during the interview would help me articulate my words better... No to smoking."
The young actor faced angry comments on social media after he was seen last week in a television interview with an Iraqi channel, actually smoking the shisha. Not only did Ramadan appear holding the shisha, but he was also smoking it while answering questions, referring to it as: "An amazing shisha, it reminds me of Egyptian shisha, and the shisha of Rifaa'a Al-Dosouqi. Some even stopped me and recalled the phrase (Oh, you’re a master when you stand and speak, why not hold the shisha then), and that’s the role of art in bridging cultures."
The controversy wasn't limited to his smoking during the interview; the concert he held in the Sindbad Entertainment City, east of Baghdad, last week also sparked a wave of debate due to the nature of the clothing he wore.
