The world's most popular instant messaging app, WhatsApp, is testing 5 new features in an effort to make its usage more enjoyable and easier than before. Tech news sites have reported that WhatsApp, which has over two billion users, is currently testing these features ranging from privacy enhancements to photo editing. These features are expected to be rolled out within a few months at most. The anticipated features are as follows:
- **Message Deletion Time Limit**: WhatsApp is currently working on changing the time limit available to users for deleting messages they have sent. Currently, the app allows users to delete messages sent for one hour, eight minutes, and sixteen seconds. The new feature being tested will extend this limit to seven days and eight minutes.
- **Image Privacy and "Last Seen"**: Reports indicate that WhatsApp is aiming to introduce a feature that helps users hide their "Last Seen" status and profile picture. Users will also be able to hide their "Status" in the app from certain contacts.
- **Photo Editing**: Users will be able to edit photos within the app without needing an external tool, which will include cropping, adding text, and other editing options.
- **Sticker Maker**: WhatsApp previously introduced a sticker maker in its desktop version and is currently working on launching a similar feature in the mobile app. Currently, the app only allows users to use existing stickers or third-party stickers, but the new feature will give users more freedom to create their own stickers.
- **Audio File Control**: WhatsApp will allow users to adjust the playback speed of recordings and voice messages, enabling them to increase the playback speed of these recordings up to two times.
