A 19-year-old Egyptian bride died by hanging about 45 days after her marriage under mysterious circumstances. Authorities in Al Gharbiyah Governorate received a report about a housewife, aged 19, from the village of Kafr Khidr, who was brought to Tanta University Hospital as a lifeless body, allegedly due to hanging.
Police officers responded by visiting the scene to discuss with the family of the deceased and gather details about her death, and the Public Prosecution was notified to preserve the body. Investigations revealed that the body belonged to a young bride, married for several weeks to a charcoal worker, and she was found fully clothed. There were no injuries on her body except for marks around her neck.
An official from Al Gharbiyah Security Directorate mentioned today that there were hidden reasons behind the hanging of the bride inside her marital home, attributed to family disputes about a month and a half into her marriage in Kafr Khidr, Tanta. The security official pointed out the presence of marital conflicts with her husband, which reportedly led her to depression and ultimately to take her own life, suggesting there was no criminal suspicion surrounding the incident.
The head of the Tanta Prosecution instructed his assistants on the importance of an autopsy to determine the cause of death and how it occurred, to verify whether there was any criminal suspicion involved. The Criminal Investigation Department was tasked with investigating the circumstances and details of the incident, and a report was filed. The Public Prosecution ordered the autopsy and authorized the burial of the deceased.
